Jamaica or Santa Rosa Beach, FL?

Jamaica or Santa Rosa Beach, FL???? It all looked the same this week. We got to spend a few days at the beach for our first anniversary thanks to our generous friends. To say it was beautiful would be an understatement. We agreed that we have NEVER seen water or weather as nice as it was earlier this week.

We thawed our leftover wedding cake. It was as good as it was a year ago. We spent time on the beach enjoying the weather and the company, shopped a little (very little...we just bought a house), ate good food (seafood one night; steak the next), and walked on the beach at night (there's nothing like the feel of cool sand on the beach at night). Molly even liked it.

Where did our summer go????

We officially have less than 3 weeks until we go back to school. Where did all that time go? We JUST got out! This week I have been helping with volleyball camp at ZC and Bradley's had workouts each afternoon. Thursday and Friday I get to attend AMSTI in Opp. I do not enjoy busyness. I like a little downtime here and there. I have enjoyed camp. It's the most I've sweated in a VERY long time and I'm very sore and tired. But I told Bradley "I'm as quick as ever. I can still do it." I just can't breathe when I get done.

Sunday is our first anniversary. Everyone told us the first year would be hard, but it's been so much fun. I am so thankful that God chose us for each other. Bradley is so much more than anything I could have chosen for myself. We got a dog instead of taking a big vacation. Some days I think the vacation would have been better.

Last night we put her in her crate for the first night. It went badly...very badly. I was unaware she could be so loud. I've heard my friends speak about how it's hard to let your babies cry. Surely their babies aren't as loud as Molly was last night. I gave up after 30 minutes of listening to her. It was awful. We are taking all suggestions.

I think we'll keep her.

So far Molly is surviving and we are learning a lot about caring for a puppy. She requires more attention than either of us expected. We're hoping that improves as she grows. She has 2 speeds: out cold and wide open. At 5:00 this morning, as I was chasing Molly and shouting "NO, MOLLY! OUTSIDE!" while she continued to do business inside...I wondered if I could get my money back. As I was gagging (seriously) and cleaning up her business...I really considered calling to get my money back. But as she sleeps in Bradley's recliner right now, I think maybe we'll keep her.

A New Addition to the Bowers Family

And it's probably not what you're thinking. Our new addition is the 4 legged kind. Her name is Molly and she is 6 weeks old. We finally have a yard so we wanted a pet. Bradley says we need to take care of a pet before we decide to take care of a baby. I've been keeing my ferns somewhat alive this summer, so surely I can keep a dog alive. She likes to be held and she cries if she isn't getting attention. Is that what it's like to have a baby???? We'll see how our first night goes.
