We're Homeowners...finally.

We are so excited! We signed the papers today. As my daddy said when I called him afterwards..."Everybody needs a little debt."

Everything is moved in. MOST is put away. We still have things we want to do...pictures to hang, etc. There is one room where everything leftover has gathered. But I'll deal with it later.

We even have a pool...a 3 feet deep pool that my sweet mother-in-law set up on the back patio for me. She knows how I like to "take a tan".

We're so thankful that we got to purchase our first home. And after moving all that stuff, we've decided it may be our home forever simply so we don't have to move again.

How did we get so much stuff??????

Here's the update. We are still waiting to close on our house. However, it looks promising that we'll close tomorrow or Tuesday. And because the lady we are purchasing the house from is a sweet lady, she has allowed us to move in before closing.

I had NO IDEA we had so much stuff. We have been hauling loads of stuff from Luverne to Elba for days. We will be forever indebted to the people who have helped us. I'm sure they too wonder how we have accumulated so much stuff. They have been great help. We never would have gotten it moved without them.

It looks like a bomb went off in the house at the moment, but we're making progress slowly. I'm so glad we chose this house. I love it even more since we've gotten our furniture moved in. Our neighbors have been so nice. They couple next door even baked us a cake.

I have to mention that somehow God always manages to work things out. Sometimes we just have to wait a little while. I'll try to post some pictures after we get the mess cleaned up and all the boxes out. Hope everyone has a great week. We're looking forward to some R&R.

July 1st is drawing near...

So I know God is in control, but does He know we have to move out of our apartment by next Wednesday????? This loan process is not going as smoothly as we'd hoped. The fact that we have new jobs is really throwing a kink in the whole process...however, the new jobs are the reason for the new house. So we continue to run in circles, and we're getting tired. That ache in my neck = STRESS + Concern that we'll have no place to put our new refridgerator or the rest of our large amount of stuff.

Happy Birthday, Bradley!

Today is Bradley's birthday. I heard somebody say once that birthdays are the times that we celebrate someone's life. I am so thankful for Bradley. He is so much more than I ever dreamed God might give me in a husband. His patience is amazing. And he always makes me laugh. I love you, Bradley. Hope your birthday is extra good.

And mine is tomorrow. I told you we were meant for each other. ; )
We hope we get a new house for our birthdays.

What's made you laugh this week?

"The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache." ~Marjorie Pay Hinckley

1. A 4 year old asking Bradley during church Sunday if he "ever frowed up".
2. A 4 year old asking Bradley during church Sunday where he "frowed up".
3. Bradley telling me after church as we got in the car that my new air freshener smelled like somebody drank something fruity and "frowed up"
4. The Verizon commercial where the guy busts the pinata.
5. The first grade teachers of Luverne school who told me about their meeting today where the lady in charge told them if they were listening to put their fingers on their noses. Hello...they teach first grade. They are not in it. If you know them, you can imagine which finger they used. I will miss them so much.
6. My brother wondering aloud if the little old couple he is renting a house from might be con artists.
7. My daddy telling me about his visit from the Jehovah's witnesses. He told them he "didn't see things that way."
8. Bradley telling me about his brother who when he was little referred to police as "woo woos" and cows as "oos".
9. The random lady in WalMart telling Jim the new shirt he was considering looked nice on him.
10. Bradley. He always makes me laugh...a lot. It's one of my favorite things about him. Tonight when he left for workouts, he told me to clean the baseboards while he was gone. I'll get right on that.

What's made you laugh this week?

Jim has a job!

Jim graduated from UA in May with a degree in education. We have all been praying for a job for him. He called us this afternoon and said, "Just call me coach". We're so excited for him! He says we aren't nearly as excited as he is. After everything is official, I'll post the school's name. He'll be far from home...but not so far we can't go visit.

If the house falls through...

at least we'll have somewhere to keep our drinks cold. We'll have to invest in a tent big enough to house our new refridgerator. That's right...we don't have kids yet so I have to post pictures of our appliances.
We have moved all of our teacher stuff to Zion Chapel. I had more than I thought...funny how stuff accumulates. It took a couple of trips, but it's all there. Bradley will be teaching history and assisting with football. I will be teaching first grade. We're excited. But we're also a little overwhelmed. Or maybe I should say I am a little overwhelmed. But at least the school stuff is moved and maybe we'll get settled in time to have a few restful weeks before school starts.

Home Sweet Home???

Maybe the house hunt is over. We put a contract on a house yesterday. We'll see how things go. Here are a few pictures of what we hope will be our home sweet home.
